The 2017 SEC Championship Game was played on December 2, 2017 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, and determined the 2017 football champion of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). UT football season ticket holders still have the opportunity to purchase tickets for the 2001 SEC Championship Game, set for Dec. 8 at Atlanta's Georgia Dome. The Bulldogs lost in the national championship to Alabama, but Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett, who was a scout team quarterback for UGA in 2017, helped Georgia avenge that defeat in the 2021 national championship.
The winner of the 2017 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game, if not selected for the four-team College Football Playoff, will earn a spot in the Capital One Orange Bowl opposite the highest-ranked available team among the SEC, Big Ten or Notre Dame. The ACC's current five-game win streak in the Orange Bowl is longest by any conference in 72 years.

Gnat took home the top honors on vault, beam and floor, Priessman won the first bars championship in more than 20 years and Kelley clinched the meet for the Tigers with a 9.95 on floor.
The tournament will feature 12 teams with seeds 5-12 playing in a single-elimination format on the opening day of the tournament, Tuesday, May 25. This will be followed by traditional double-elimination play Wednesday-Friday. The tournament will return to single-elimination play on Saturday. A total of 17 games are scheduled to be played throughout the week, with the championship game scheduled for Sunday, May 30 at 2 p.m.
Ticket books good for all sessions of the tournament went on sale May 12 and sold out for $110 each. Single-session tickets, if available, were scheduled to go on sale for $20 beginning Saturday, May 22.
